Collin McLaughlin Named Chief Executive Officer of Valley Hospital
Collin McLaughlin has been named Chief Executive Officer for Valley Hospital Medical Center, a 328-bed tertiary care hospital in the Las Vegas Medical District. He succeeds Claude Wise, who became the CEO of Spring Valley Hospital in October 2022.
As the CEO, McLaughlin is responsible for all facets of management including strategic planning, business development and physician relations, along with overseeing finance, human resources, quality initiatives and graduate medical education. Additionally, McLaughlin has oversight from a licensure, regulatory and operational perspective of Elite Medical Center, a freestanding emergency department located near the Las Vegas Strip, and the ER at North Las Vegas, which is under construction at North Fifth Street and Rome Boulevard in North Las Vegas.
About Valley Hospital
“I am thrilled to join the amazing Valley Hospital team that has been providing excellence in patient-centered care to our community for over 50 years,” said McLaughlin, who spent his middle and high school years in Las Vegas and relocated back to Las Vegas in 2017. “Valley Hospital has always been known for its advanced cardiovascular care, and over the past 20 years, we’ve focused on providing more advanced neurological, pulmonary and spinal procedures.
“We’ve also created a solid pipeline of primary care physicians and specialists through our Graduate Medical Education program, which was established in 2006. Our goal is to keep talented physicians living and working in our community. We have graduates who have established or joined successful practices, worked tirelessly through the COVID-19 pandemic and now serve as program directors and faculty members,” noted McLaughlin. “Currently, we have residents specializing in family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, orthopedic surgery or pharmacy, along with fellowships in gastroenterology and pulmonary/critical care.”
Before joining Valley Hospital, McLaughlin served as the Chief Operating Officer for Desert Springs Hospital, which is open 24/7 for emergency care and has ceased inpatient operations, and as an Associate/Assistant Administrator for Henderson Hospital. Both hospitals are part of The Valley Health System.
McLaughlin earned a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University.
