ER at Desert Springs Offers 24/7 Emergency Care
Effective July 12, 2023, Desert Springs Hospital transitioned to the ER at Desert Springs, an extension of Valley Hospital, and continues to offer emergency medical care around the clock every day of the year. It is staffed with emergency medicine physicians, nurses and techs, and equipped with an on-site laboratory, CT scanner and imaging equipment. It features 18 treatment bays to care for patients with a wide range of medical issues.
“Area residents have long supported Desert Springs as their hospital of choice, and we’re happy we can continue offering emergency medical care in the central and southeast areas of Clark County,” said Collin McLaughlin, CEO of Valley Hospital. “Our team can diagnose and treat the same types of emergencies and illnesses that may be seen in hospital-based emergency departments. Our goal remains to triage, diagnose and treat patients as quickly as possible.”
ER at Desert Springs now operates as an extension of Valley Hospital since Desert Springs Hospital ceased inpatient operations in early March and received approval from the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services to convert to a remote emergency department. Plans are underway for a new remote emergency department to be constructed on the Desert Springs campus, providing a modern environment for patients, staff and physicians.
It is the fifth remote emergency department in The Valley Health System. The others include the ER at Green Valley Ranch, the ER at Blue Diamond, the ER at Valley Vista and Elite Medical Center. Two additional facilities, the ER at North Las Vegas and the ER at West Craig, are under construction. It is part of The Valley Health System, a network of hospitals, remote emergency departments, outpatient services and physician practices.
